Event photography is kind of like the wedding reception -- it's full of people you can't control moving around everywhere, usually in a poorly lit room. You run around trying to get great candids of all the important people while also getting great posed groups. And while you are doing both of those things, DEFINITELY don't forget to get tons of great detail shots of the room and the flowers and the tables and the food and the band and the people coming in and the people leaving and the hugs and the handshakes and kids being cute and the old people being cute and the organizers looking like they're in charge of everything. Simple, right?
